How to Obtain Monthly Printer Usage from Canon and HP Printers

Want to know how much you're printing every month? Find your Canon or HP model below and follow the steps provided.

To obtain a meter from a Canon multifunctional device:

  1. Press “counter check” button on the control panel
  2. Observe LCD display for information
  3. Select “print list” from the LCD display to get a printed report
  4. Retrieve the report from the printer, scan and email back to us

To obtain a meter from an HP multifunctional device

From the Home screen, scroll to the “Administration” button.

  1. Select Information
  2. Select Configuration/Status Pages
  3. Select Usage Page
  4. Select Print
  5. Retrieve the report from the printer, scan and email back to us

To obtain a meter from an HP printer

(Steps may vary slightly depending on the model)

  1. Press the down arrow
  2. Select “Reports” and then choose “OK”
  3. Select “Usage report”
  4. Print usage page (some models)
  5. Retrieve the report from the printer, scan and email back to us

HP LaserJet M3035mfp, M3027mfp, M4345mfp, M5025mfp, M5035mfp, M9040mfp, and M9050mfp

  1. On the MFP control panel, press Administration
  2. Scroll to and touch Information 
  3. Scroll to and touch Configuration/Status Pages
  4. Scroll to and touch Configuration Page. The Configuration page will print.
  5. The firmware date code is listed in the section called Device Information 

HP LaserJet 1200 and 1220 series printers

  1. Press the GO button when the printer is in the Ready state.

HP LaserJet 1300 series printers

  1. When the printer is in the Ready state, press the GO button for five seconds, until the Attention light turns on, and then release the button.

HP LaserJet 2400 / 2420 / 4240/ 4250 / 4350 series printer

  1. Press (SELECT) to open the menus.
  2. Scroll to Information.
  3. Use (UP button) or (DOWN button) to scroll to PRINT CONFIGURATION and then press (SELECT).

HP LaserJet 4240, 4250, and 4350 series printers

  1. Press (SELECT) to open the menus.
  2. Use (UP button) or (DOWN button) to scroll to PRINT CONFIGURATION and then press (SELECT).

HP LaserJet P2055 / M401 Series Printer

  1. Press OK.
  2. Press the down arrow to select Reports, and then press OK.
  3. Press the down arrow to select the Configuration Report, and then press OK to print.

HP LaserJet P2035 / 2015 Series Printer

  1. Press and hold the Go button for 5 seconds when the printer Ready light is on and no other jobs are printing.

HP LaserJet 3010/3015 series printers

  1. Select Menu Options.
  2. Scroll to INFORMATION.
  3. Scroll and Select PRINT CONFIGURATION, and then press Product illustration (Select button).

HP LaserJet 1212nf series printers

  1. Select Set up (small wrench) and scroll to reports using arrows.
  2. Select Main Menu Reports. Press OK.
  3. Scroll to Config report and press OK

HP LaserJet M425dn MFP printer

  1. On the main control panel Select Reports.
  2. Select configuration page from list of reports.
